So I didn't really know what to write about this week so I thought I would share my day and give you a little glimpse of what being a student at UNC Asheville can look like.
For one of my education classes I get to observe a classroom, specifically and elementary classroom to watch a social studies lesson. Today was the day I went to do this. So I observed at an elementary and went to a few classrooms. I saw a little bit of a fourth grade class, a third grade class and a kindergarten class. As of right now seeing the different age levels I cannot choose one I would like to teach more. They all seem fun and interesting! So I spent a couple of hours in different classrooms watching kids work on projects and work on their reading and spelling. In the kindergarten class they were writing their own books with a different fact about penguins on each page. (one little girl had 19 pages!) I also got to see how the teachers handled discipline and keeping the kids focused.
So after that crazy adventure I hurried back to the school so I could get to my on-campus job (which I really love!). After spending a few hours here at work I have only one class to get to today. After class I will get a head start on some of my homework (maybe). Since it is a Friday night I will probably hang out with some friends, go to a movie or maybe go out for dinner.
This is just one busy day in my week!
