Admirable Teaching

Hello All!

With spring break over, it was back to the grind this week with endless amounts of homework and studying. Thankfully, I've made it to Friday. :)

Just this morning, I had the opportunity to observe another middle school class. The teacher, Mrs. Beard, is nothing short of the perfect teacher. My first semester observing and my expectations are so high! What made her so great? She seemed to hit every technique we talked about in my education class while just having a ordinary class. She gave individual attention to each student while keeping everyone engaged and all in order. Not to mention, everyone seemed to actually enjoy learning. It was quite amazing.

As I sat there taking diligent notes, I couldn't help but hope that I would be as great of a teacher as Mrs. Beard. She had to repeat the same equation numerous times to assure that everyone understood and didn't get frustrated once. Her patience was admirable. While we mostly bash the American education system today, we have to remember that there are great teachers out there and they deserve to be recognized. Don't you remember one teacher that impacted your childhood? I know I can think of a few. All we have to do is prepare ourselves for this career and hopefully, we can start having better and better teachers and eventually, an admirable education system as well.
