Hey everyone,
My name is Cassie Schueler and I am currently in the K-6 education program here at UNC Asheville.
I am also a psychology major. This is my second semester at UNC Asheville and I am really enjoying it! I moved here last summer with my sister and friend. We moved from Michigan so its been a BIG change. The weather here is so much better! My family back at home just got hit by a blizzard. They have at least a foot of snow.
I love basketball- playing, coaching and watching. Before I moved to North Carolina I was around basketball all the time. I assisted the girls varsity and 8th grade teams at my high school and midddle school. I also helped with camps for their younger girls too. I guess that's what got me thinking about being a teacher. I am interested in the lower grades, like 1st or 2nd. I think the most important thing you can do as a teacher is to inspire kids to learn and show them learning can be fun and exciting!
