Taking the Plunge

Good morning. Today feels like as good a day as any to jump back into the groove of things after a long winter's nap(I mean a long, productive break filled with studying and constructive activities-for any of my professors who may be reading this).

I would first like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. Even though it's almost the end of January, I'm still writing 09's on all of my papers. Does anyone else have that problem?

Anyways, I have now begun the "semester of madness." So-named by my friends who found out that I am not only taking Senior Comps and writing a thesis this semester, but also taking my Education 380 capstone course. Needless to say, I'm feeling the walls closing in already, but I can tell you that I'm way excited about the prospect of getting back into a high school classroom environment.

The best quality of UNC Asheville's licensure program is that they really do make sure all candidates get as much perspective as possible on what it will be like to teach. And who better to prepare you for the real thing than the actual kids you will be teaching? All the theoretical knowledge in the world can't prepare you for what those young adults have in store for you. Does it sound scary yet? It does? Good, I've made my point.

I may be crazy for saying this, but despite all of the fear, I'm ready to be humbled once again by the greatest, and at the same time harshest,critics in the world. So wish me luck, pray for me, meditate, chant or just send some good vibes my way. Trust me, I'm going to need all of it!
